An event for all the family! - the Heavy Horse Weekend offers a taste of the countryside by the sea, with an Obstacle Driving Championship on Sunday and a Heavy Horse Parade on Monday.

Now in its 27th year, the Heavy Horse Weekend is a very popular event and is not only part of the horsemen and horsewomen's calendar, but a regular fixture on the seafront in Southsea.

Held on Castle Field, it regularly attracts many thousands of people each day who turn out to see the Obstacle Driving Championship (which runs on the Sunday) and the Heavy Horse Parade and scurry driving challenge which take place on Monday.

On Saturday you can see the "Fun Dog show" plus a great mix of attractions (as well as our craft stalls), children's rides and entertainment, with horses arriving during the day for the Sunday and Monday events.

Alongside all this, you will find our fantastic selection of Craft Stalls. Come and and see a superb selection of handmade products, demonstrations and unusual crafts from Britain and around the world. With up to 50 exhibitors, this is a great chance to choose a gift for someone special, or a treat for yourself!

The Heavy Horse Weekend is organised by Portsmouth City Council and admission to the event is completely free. We are grateful to the event organisers for welcoming our Craft Stalls.
